オーストラリアでは日本でいう開業医はGP（General Practitioner)と呼ばれます．
専門医は通常GPが病気、症状に応じて紹介してくれます．
最近では個人経営のGPだけでなく、企業規模のメディカルセンターが
専門医やレントゲン設備なども備え、年中無休でサービスを提供しています．
初診料は医者によって違いが有りますが、一般的に一回＄３５〜４５程度．
