Additive Manufacturing & Post-Processing Technician

Raindance Systems is seeking someone for an immediate-start, hands-on role based in Canning Vale, primarily focused on the post-processing and finishing of additively manufactured components.

The role offers exposure to advanced metal powder bed fusion (PBF), industrial polymer 3D printing, CNC and lathe operation, mechanical assembly and production.

You will work with advanced engineering and aerospace-grade materials, including titanium, Scalmalloy and high-performance engineering polymers, while developing practical manufacturing skills.

This is first and foremost a production-focused role, and a significant portion of the work can be repetitive. We are looking for someone who takes pride in doing things properly and maintains consistent care and quality.

Previous manufacturing experience is desirable, but attitude, attention to detail and a willingness to learn and improve are more important.

THE ROLE

Responsibilities include:

• Post-processing and finishing metal and polymer 3D-printed components.
• Support removal, cleaning, deburring, sanding, drilling, tapping, fitting and finishing.
• Working with components produced using advanced metal PBF and industrial polymer 3D-printing technologies.
• Handling materials including titanium, Scalmalloy and engineering polymers.
• Operating CNC machinery and manual lathes, with training provided where required.
• Using hand tools, power tools and measuring equipment accurately.
• Manufacturing and assembling specialised mechanical frames, components and equipment to engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Inspecting dimensional accuracy, surface quality, fit and overall workmanship.
• Rotating through production, assembly, boxing and packing as required.
• Completing one-off jobs and repetitive production runs while maintaining consistent quality.
• Maintaining tooling, machinery and a clean, organised workshop.
• Working with the engineering team to improve post-processing methods, tooling and production processes.
• For the right candidate, developing skills in equipment servicing, fault-finding, maintenance and repair.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for someone who:

• Is practical, mechanically minded and enjoys hands-on work.
• Is confident using hand and power tools.
• Has strong attention to detail and takes pride in their workmanship.
• Recognises when something is wrong and is prepared to stop, investigate or ask.
• Can maintain concentration and consistent quality during repetitive tasks.
• Is reliable, organised and able to work independently once trained.
• Is interested in learning new manufacturing technologies.
• Takes feedback onboard and wants to improve the quality and efficiency of their work.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in any of the following would be highly regarded:

• Additive manufacturing / 3D printing.
• CNC machine operation.
• Manual lathe operation or machining.
• Mechanical assembly or fabrication.
• Manufacturing or production.
• Reading engineering drawings.
• Using measuring equipment such as vernier calipers and micrometers.

Experience in all these areas is not required. Formal engineering or trade qualifications are welcome but are not essential. Training will be provided for the right person.

What matters most is your attitude, practical ability, attention to detail, work ethic and willingness to learn and improve.
