Operators and scope

This policy applies to Perth News and its related services, jointly operated by GITS International Pty Ltd and ZOH PTY LTD.

Information we collect

We collect account details, content you submit, consent records, login and registration security data such as IP address and user agent, and technical information needed to operate and protect the service.

How we use information

We use information to provide accounts and community features, verify email addresses, prevent abuse, operate Job Scout, respond to enquiries, improve the service and meet legal obligations.

English newsletter and SendGrid

We use SendGrid for newsletter delivery and manually update mailing lists using your name, email address and subscription preference. Japanese and English subscriptions are managed separately. Account preference changes take effect at the next mailing-list update. To stop emails immediately, use the unsubscribe link in an email. Email unsubscribes are not automatically reflected in your account, and selecting ON here does not automatically clear a mailing-service unsubscribe. Contact us if you wish to resume. Account verification, security and private offer notifications are not affected.

We retain a history of subscription choices, including the time, source, wording version and relevant security data, so that we can honour and demonstrate your preference.

Sharing and retention

We share information only with service providers needed to operate Perth News, where you ask us to do so, or where required by law. We retain information only as long as reasonably needed for the purpose, security, dispute handling and legal obligations.

Your choices

You can update account and newsletter settings from your account. For access, correction or deletion enquiries, use our contact form.

Booking source measurement (31 October 2026)

For service improvement, we temporarily retain source categories (search, social, advertising and similar channels) and safe public entry/article paths in the existing site session, for no more than 24 hours. For a new paid request booking these categories and paths are retained on our site for up to 90 days. We do not store raw referrer URLs, query strings, search terms, campaign text, click identifiers, IP addresses or GA browser IDs in this measurement, and do not send it to Google or suppliers. A missing referrer is not proof of a direct visit. The booking form offers an opt-out without affecting booking; DNT and Global Privacy Control signals are also respected. Purchase analytics (24 October 2026)

When service measurement is selected, booking consent includes retaining the booking source and analysing purchases and refunds with Google Analytics. You may choose booking only. With your consent in the tour booking form or on the boost checkout page, we send product codes, purchase/refund amounts and dates, pseudonymous transaction identifiers and Google Analytics browser/session identifiers to Google to understand how visits lead to purchases. We do not include your name, email address, booking access links or payment-card data in these server-side events. Google may process data outside Australia. This does not enable advertising personalisation.

Purchases remain available without consent. Use Privacy settings on the booking page, or uncheck and save the analytics option on boost checkout to stop future sending; this does not automatically erase data already sent. Contact info@perthnews.com.au for access or deletion requests. Separate analytics identifiers and event records are retained for up to 400 days, with routine daily expiry processing. Payment, booking and accounting records are retained separately for operational and legal purposes. Existing website access analytics are distinct from this optional purchase linkage.

Tour checkout progress

To improve tour checkout, we record product codes, progress stages, error categories and milestone times per browser session, linked to booking acceptance and payment outcomes. These analytics records exclude names, email, phone, field contents, card data and IP addresses and are deleted after 90 days. Additional Google progress events contain product code, language and stage, not booking references or secret access credentials. Operational booking and payment records are retained separately.
